QubeGB are passionate about sport development in the UK.  We have sponsored Melrose Rugby Club for the past three years and have just been announced as their main sponsor in a new three year sponsorship deal with the club.  /Blog/qubegb-leading-the-way-in-sponsorship

We are not just supportive of rugby though and also support local football especially at youth level. As well as QubeGB being a sponsor of Gala Fairydean Junior Football Club, Darren Bunker, COO at Qube, is also Head Coach for the Under 9’s team.  Most recently the company was delighted to be able to sponsor, along with Borders Sport and Leisure Trust and Sport Borders, 40 coaches through Coerver Coaching this weekend, all of which gained the Coerver Youth Diploma.

Coerver Coaching is a global football coaching programme inspired by the teachings of Wiel Coerver and was created in 1984 by Alfred Gaulstian and Chelsea footballer Charlie Cooke.  Coerver Coaching is suitable for all ages but particularly for 5 -16 year olds and focuses on individual skills development and small group play.  It is endorsed and recommended by the top federations including the French Football Federation, Arsenal FC and Bayern Munich FC.

The Scottish Borders Coerver Coaching session was hosted by Scottish soccer legend John Collins and Coerver Scotland Director and Elite Performance Coach Gordon Craig.  The 40 coaches, including our very own Darren Bunker and James Swaney, completed an intensive two day session which will allow thousands of young footballers across the Scottish Borders to benefit from this world class coaching.

Following the session Darren Bunker stated “I was really impressed with the coaching and I am looking forward to implementing it in training sessions.  It is also great that QubeGB can be part of sport development which allows so many youngsters from across the Scottish Borders to improve their football skills and gain confidence which will stay with them for a lifetime”.

John Collins said: “It’s really great to come back to the Borders, to this great facility at 3G Arena, to deliver the Coerver Coaching Diploma. Through taking this course coaches will go back to their teams across the Borders and pass on, not only football skills coaching on ball mastery, balance & coordination etc. but also instil a positive message to the youngsters that are great life skills, from listening to others and having respect for each other to leading a healthy life – these coaches really have an important influencing role in the lives of many young people.  I am delighted that QubeGB, Borders Sport and Leisure Trust and Sport Borders were able to come together to make this happen.” www.coerver.co.uk/scotland
