When did you join QubeGB?
June 2007 when it first started
What did you do before joining QubeGB?
I have been working on the project of IPTV for seven years. I firstly started as an Engineer, where my potential was quickly recognised and I was promoted to a Supervisor which involved coaching, developing and training the existing Engineers and also the new trainees. After proving myself as a Supervisor I was soon promoted to a Manager. I then left the company to work within QubeGB where I was given the role of National Training Manager.
Whilst being the National Training Manager, I have further improved my knowledge and also the team through a variety of courses, acquiring a Suzy Lamplugh accreditation and I am currently liaising with the ILM (Institute of leadership and Management) to give the team an opportunity to progress in a “Leadership and Management” qualification, through to a degree and eventually gain a BA (Hons).
What does your job involve on a day-to-day basis?
Running the Training department, creating new training material and updating existing material to whatever is relevant. Meeting new clients to discuss designing training courses to ensure their expectations are met. Sourcing training courses to suit our employees needs. Visiting clients and training groups or individuals when required to meet the clients specific requirements. Attending meetings to discuss new learning technologies and how we can improve them. I also head the recruiting side of the company, so I would liaise with our HR Department to arrange interviews for certain positions etc.
What do you like about working at QubeGB?
I enjoy working with the team as we all get on really well, the base of the team have worked together for over 5 years so it makes a great working environment and achieve excellent results in everything we do.
What's your most memorable QubeGB experience so far?
My most memorable experience was having the pleasure of spending 16 days travelling throughout Italy for one of our clients working on a specific project. We drove from Turin to Livigno, then the length of Italy to Scilla, then over to Palermo then finally finishing in Sardinia.
What's your favourite album?
This is extremely hard as I have a big passion for music, I go to a lot of concerts and have a lot of albums! I’m going to say U2 Achtung Baby, but it could easily have been another one of their albums or one of Radiohead’s or the Foo Fighters!
What's your stance on Marmite?
I love Marmite!!
